Hyejin Yoon explores painting as a means to sustain the presence of absence. Prompted by personal experiences of loss, she began to confront emotions she had previously dismissed, developing a body of work that memorializes what no longer exists. Forms are decomposed and transited to abstraction, unfolding into ambiguous scenes that eschew direct representation. Instead, her compositions trace resemblances—faint echoes of memories—through blurred fields of color and fragmented forms.
