About
Founded in 2015, Disweekendroom has established itself as an important barometer of new directions in the Korean contemporary art scene. The gallery's curatorial program highlights emerging and mid-career artists across a range of media, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, and installation, and encourages their reinterpretation of traditional mediums and experimental challenges. The gallery has been exploring innovative strategies to help artists carve out a niche for themselves amidst the turbulent art market, particularly in the vibrant Asian art scene, while also striving to engage in in-depth conversations about creative practice and curatorial methodologies, which it realizes through a number of dynamic projects. Since our move from Cheongdam-dong to Hannam-dong in 2021, we have been working on richer exhibitions and a broader range of artists, and strengthening our international collaborations based in Germany, the UK, Japan, China, and elsewhere.
In April, Disweekendroom will be presenting at ART OnO 2025 with Adam Boyd (UK), Amber
Toplicek (USA), Chae Won Lee (Korea), Philipp Roesch (Germany), and Sungjun Hong (Korea) will be presenting their work.
