Founded in 2012, Yarlager Gallery (Cologne/Seoul) has played a pivotal role as the parent gallery of Union Gallery (London). It is currently expanding its presence in the Korean market with the opening of a new gallery in Gangnam-gu, Seoul in 2023. Yari Lager heads both institutions. Yari Lager Gallery (Cologne/Seoul) works in collaboration with Union Gallery in London, but also runs its program as an independent gallery.

Based between London, Cologne and Seoul, Yari Lager has worked extensively in the international art scene for 30 years. He began his career at the Leeson Gallery, one of the UK's leading galleries, before founding VTO, an artist-centered alternative space in London's East End in 1998. In 2003, he founded Union Gallery in a space on Union Street near the Tate Gallery, which is still located in the East End.

Yari Lager has been introducing emerging Korean artists to the international stage with her intercontinental art network. Since 2016, she has been actively introducing international artists to the Korean art market.

Yarlager Gallery has a dynamic presence in three countries: Germany, the United Kingdom, and South Korea. In addition to exhibitions for its gallery space, the gallery actively participates in international art fairs and organizes and produces traveling exhibitions. Ultimately, the gallery aims to serve as a platform for the promotion and management of artists from different cultural backgrounds, and to spark diverse discourses.
